Special Weather Statement issued September 18 at 6:12AM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL
At 610 AM, satellite imagery and traffic cameras showed patchy
dense fog had developed in Volusia County, including Daytona
Beach, New Smyrna Beach, DeLand, and Ormond Beach, as well as
along Interstate 4 and Interstate 95. The fog was reducing
visibilities to about one mile or less, confirmed by the Daytona
Beach International Airport reporting visibility reduced to one
half mile.
Motorists in these areas are urged to drive with caution. Reduce
your speed, use your low beam headlights, and leave extra
following distance. The fog is expected to linger past sunrise,
and dissipate between 8 and 9 AM.
