Description
Coastal Flood Advisory issued November 25 at 3:14AM EST until November 26 at 11:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IS CANCELLED...
* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding
is possible on Friday and Saturday mornings due to high
astronomical high tides and onshore winds. For the High Rip
Current Risk, dangerous life-threatening rip currents are
expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint
Lucie, Coastal Martin, Mainland Northern Brevard, Northern
Brevard Barrier Islands, Mainland Southern Brevard and
Southern Brevard Barrier Islands Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 11 AM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Some flooding of low-lying lots, parks, and roadways
may occur near the shore line. Only isolated road closures are
expected. Minor beach erosion will also be possible,
especially in vulnerable areas. Rip currents can sweep even
the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coastal flooding potential will be the
greatest during the morning high tide cycles from 8 to 10 AM
this morning, and again from 9 to 11 AM Saturday morning.
Onshore winds and above normal tides will combine to generate
flooding of low areas along the shore. Do not drive around
barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary
actions to protect flood-prone property.
