Coastal Flood Watch issued December 22 at 7:25AM EST until December 23 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...Significant coastal flooding.
* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint
Lucie, Coastal Martin, Northern Brevard Barrier Islands and
Southern Brevard Barrier Islands Counties.
* WHEN...Through Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...Some roads may be closed. Low lying property
including homes, businesses and some critical infrastructure
may be inundated. Shoreline erosion may occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Coastal flooding is expected to occur with
the morning high tide cycle Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
Extension and upgrade to a Coastal Flood Warning is anticipated.
Conditions favorable for coastal flooding are expected to
develop. Coastal residents should be alert for later statements
or warnings and take necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
