Freeze Warning issued December 24 at 3:30AM EST until December 25 at 9:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...For the first Freeze Warning, duration of freezing
temperatures early this morning 2 to 4 hours. For the second
Freeze Warning tonight, duration of freezing temperatures
between 2 and 6 hours expected. For the Freeze Watch, sub-
freezing temperatures as low as 32 possible.
* WHERE...Orange, Seminole, Coastal Volusia and Southern Lake
Counties.
* WHEN...For the first Freeze Warning, until 9 AM EST this
morning. For the second Freeze Warning, from 11 PM this
evening to 9 AM EST Sunday. For the Freeze Watch, from late
Sunday night through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Bring pets
and potted plants indoors. Check on elderly neighbors to make
sure their furnace is working.To prevent freezing and possible
bursting of outdoor water pipes they can be wrapped, drained, or
allowed to drip slowly.
