Freeze Watch issued December 24 at 12:54PM EST until December 26 at 8:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...For the Hard Freeze Warning tonight, duration of freezing
temperatures between 6 and 10 hours, and duration of below 28
degrees will be between 2 and 4 hours. For the Freeze Watch
Sunday night, freezing temperatures around 32 possible.
* WHERE...Coastal Volusia County.
* WHEN...For the Hard Freeze Warning, from 11 PM this evening to
9 AM EST Sunday. For the Freeze Watch, from late Sunday night
through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Bring pets
and potted plants indoors. Check on elderly neighbors to make
sure their furnace is working.To prevent freezing and possible
bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained,
or allowed to drip slowly. Cover above-ground exposed pipes to
protect them from freezing.
