Freeze Warning issued December 25 at 1:30PM EST until December 26 at 9:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...Freezing temperatures between 28 and 32 degrees are
forecast for 3 to 6 hours over interior Volusia and north Lake
counties, up to 3 hours for coastal Volusia and up to 2 hours
for most of Seminole, Orange and southern Lake counties.
Normally colder locations in northwest Orange, western Seminole
and southern Lake counties will see longer durations. The urban
corridor between Orlando and Sanford should remain above
freezing in the mid 30s.
* WHERE...Volusia, Lake, Orange and Seminole counties.
* WHEN...From 2 AM to 9 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Bring pets
and potted plants indoors. Check on elderly neighbors to make
sure their furnace is working.To prevent freezing and possible
bursting of outdoor water pipes they can be wrapped, drained, or
allowed to drip slowly.
