Beach Hazards Statement issued March 8 at 9:12AM EST until March 9 at 3:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...Increasing northeast winds behind a passing cool front
will produce rough surf and a Moderate risk of life threatening
rip currents.
* WHERE...Beaches of Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie
and Martin counties.
* WHEN...Through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Rough surf and strong currents will make swimming
conditions hazardous.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
