Red Flag Warning issued April 12 at 9:38AM EDT until April 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening. The Fire
Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler,
Clarion, Jefferson PA, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Indiana,
Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, and Fayette Counties.
* TIMING...Through this evening.
* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY...25 to 35 percent.
* MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES...Mid to Upper 70s by the afternoon
* IMPACTS...Rapid wildfire growth and spread expected. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring or are imminent due to a combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. Any fires that
develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to
contain.
