Special Weather Statement issued June 3 at 4:39PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 437 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a developing thunderstorm
over Shaler Township, or near Ross Township, moving southwest at 20
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 30 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Mount Lebanon, Ross Township, McCandless Township, Shaler
Township, North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin, Hampton Township, Scott
Township, Whitehall, Robinson Township, and Brentwood.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 58 and 62.
Interstate 279 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 1 and 7.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 62 and 73.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
