Marine Weather Statement issued July 6 at 2:52PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL
A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm...
At 252 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from near Ormond-By-the-Sea to
Edgewater to near Maytown, moving east at 15 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
