Special Weather Statement issued July 28 at 8:50PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 850 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Oakmont, or near Penn Hills, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Penn Hills, Vandergrift, Plum, Murrysville, Hampton Township, New
Kensington, Lower Burrell, Harrison Township, O'hara Township,
Oakmont, Fox Chapel, Arnold, Tarentum, Sharpsburg, Springdale,
Brackenridge, Aspinwall, Verona, Blawnox, and Cheswick.
This includes Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 41 and 54.
