Description
Special Weather Statement issued October 31 at 4:29AM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL
At 428 AM, surface observations, satellite imagery and traffic
cameras showed fog spreading across Lake, northern Seminole and
northwestern Volusia Counties. Visibilities in some areas had
dropped to a few hundred yards or less.
Fog is expected to continue spreading south and reach the I-4
corridor from Daytona Beach to the Greater Sanford and Orlando
areas through sunrise. Should dense fog become more widespread,
then a Dense Fog Advisory will be needed. The fog should burn
off between 8 and 9 AM.
Drivers should prepare to encounter rapid reductions in visibility
on their morning commute. Consider leaving early so that you can
arrive safely at your destination as a safe driving speed. When
driving in dense fog, slow down, use only your low beam headlights,
and leave extra distance between your vehicle and the one in
front of you.
