Special Weather Statement issued November 20 at 1:55AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
At 154 AM, surface observations, satellite imagery and traffic
cameras showed areas of fog developing across east central
Florida, especially from around Interstate 95 inland. The fog was
reducing visibilities to a few hundred yards or less in some
locations.
The fog is expected to continue across the area past sunrise,
and then burn off between 8 and 9 AM. Should dense fog become
widespread, then a Dense Fog Advisory will be needed.
Drivers should prepare to encounter rapid visibility reductions
early this morning, especially as the morning rush hour commute
approaches. Consider leaving early so that you can arrive safely
at your destination at a safe driving speed. When driving in fog,
slow down, use only your low beam headlights, and leave extra
distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
