* WHAT...Visibility dropping below one quarter mile in dense fog.
* WHERE...All of east central Florida.
* WHEN...Until 9 AM this morning.
* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At 430 AM, surface observations, satellite
imagery and traffic cameras showed areas of dense fog had
formed across east central Florida, especially across the
interior counties of Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola and
Okeechobee. A weather spotter recently reported visibilities had
dropped to less than a few hundred yards in the Orlando area.
The dense fog will continue past sunrise, then gradually burn
off by 9 AM.
Drivers should prepare to encounter significant reductions in
visibility this morning, especially during the rush hour commute.
Consider leaving early so that you can arrive safely at your
destination at a safe driving speed. When driving in dense fog,
slow down, use only your low beam headlights, and leave extra
distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
