Special Weather Statement issued November 20 at 8:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
At 758 AM, surface observations, satellite imagery and traffic
cameras showed patchy dense fog developing across Coastal Volusia
County, especially from around Interstate 95 inland. The fog was
reducing visibilities to a quarter of a mile or less. The fog is
expected to burn off by around 9 AM.
Drivers should prepare to encounter rapid visibility reductions
early this morning, especially as the morning rush hour commute
approaches. Consider leaving early so that you can arrive safely
at your destination at a safe driving speed. When driving in fog,
slow down, use only your low beam headlights, and leave extra
distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
