Special Weather Statement issued March 10 at 1:42PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 141 PM EDT, snow showers were located along a line extending from
Gibsonia to Shippingport. Movement was east at 40 mph.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Ross Township, McCandless Township, Franklin
Park, East Liverpool, Aliquippa, Apollo, Shaler Township, Plum,
Murrysville, Hampton Township, New Kensington, Lower Burrell,
Harrison Township, Economy, O'hara Township, Ambridge, Wexford, and
West View.
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 30 and 54.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 68 and 77.
Parkway North between mile markers 6 and 13.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 41 and 47.
Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in
these snow showers. Bridges and overpasses will likely see at least
a coating of snow and could become slick.
