The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for...
Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm...
Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 20-60 nm...
* Until 100 PM EDT.
* At 1202 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Daytona
Beach to 6 nm west of Port Orange to 16 nm west of New Smyrna
Beach, moving east at 30 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small
hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can can quickly form and capsize boats,
damage vessels and create locally hazardous seas. Make
sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Expect wind
gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves,
lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are
wearing life jackets. Return to safe harbor if possible.
* Locations impacted include...
New Smyrna Beach Airport, Allandale, New Smyrna Beach, Port Orange,
and Ponce Inlet.
