Special Weather Statement issued May 15 at 4:57AM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL
At 456 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Holly Hill, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, DeLand, and South Daytona.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM EDT for east central
Florida.
