Special Weather Statement issued May 27 at 6:39PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 638 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Arnold, or 7 miles north of Penn Hills, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Penn Hills, Vandergrift, Apollo, Plum, Murrysville, New Kensington,
Lower Burrell, Harrison Township, O'hara Township, Oakmont, Arnold,
Tarentum, Natrona Heights, Springdale, Brackenridge, Verona,
Leechburg, Freeport, Cheswick, and Russellton.
This includes Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 44 and 53.
