Description
Coastal Flood Warning issued October 30 at 6:19AM EDT until October 30 at 12:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC
* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Warning, one to two feet of
inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal
flooding. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one foot of
inundation above ground level expected in low lying areas due
to tidal flooding.
* WHERE...Shoreline in Charles and King George Counties.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until noon EDT today,
especially around the time of high tide. For the Coastal Flood
Advisory, from noon today to 2 AM EDT Friday, especially
around the time of high tide.
* IMPACTS...At 5.0 feet, water covers yards and roads in
Dahlgren and on Cobb Island. Water covers the approach to Cobb
Island bridge and begins limiting the ability to reach the
mainland. Also water approaches structures near Cobb Island.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides up to 3 feet above normal. The next
high tides at Goose Bay are 11:01 AM and 11:24 PM. The next high
tides at Dahlgren are 9:37 AM and 10:06 PM. The next high tides
at Indian Head are 2:55 PM and 3:18 AM.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.
